I've had berghaus for many years now. Have always gone a size up as my toe area is quite wide. I ordered the Scarpa on line (a friend recommended them as being a bit wider in the the toe area), and again went a size up. They felt OK at home but once our walking in them, they are probably half size too big so need to do up really tight. Also the gait is different. When I first used them, I didnt feel that I rolled from heel to toe. More like walking flat footed to start with, although this has improved a lot with the mileage. They are a really good quality, sturdy boot, just a bit different to what I'm used to but getting better on each outing.

I now only have Scarpa boots and shoes for walking. Very comfortable and long lasting.

Really like the boots (give5star) wrong size for me returned boots to store and I am still waiting for refund after a week. Rang to complain and still waiting??????

Looks good and feels like good quality. Nothing flimsy and felt nicely padded round the ankle. I found the size comes up small. I'm normally a 3.5 -4 but the size 4 in these my toe was just touching the end. I will be re ordering in a size 5.

Very light on your feet,fantastic walking boots.

Fantastically comfortable straight from the box. Durable too as these were a direct replacement for a pair that have lasted 8 years and covered hundreds (maybe thousands!) of miles.

Bought as a replacement for comfortable and much used 10yr old Scarpa boots, the Ranger 2GTX did not disappoint.
I'm short with chubby calves and struggle to find boots that are low enough at the back, to avoid horrible blisters from the cuff. These are great, the cuff is cut lower at the back ensuring no achilles problems, the inner is really comfortable and sole is rigid with great traction. Well used already, they remain waterproof, unlike the Salomon canvas/gortex ones I only used twice! I'm usually size 4to5 in shoes and my toes don't hit the front in the new size 5 Ranger's. I'm really happy with them and would recommend to others .

These boots are really good for me as I have an arthritic knee, and the double thickness soles cushion any hard terrain. They are very comfortable, I always wear them with thick socks. The laces could be a bit longer as I like to tie them in a double bow. I am very pleased with my new boots.

This boots are super comfortable and haven’t rubbed at all since buying them a few weeks ago! I took them on a 4 day field trip with my uni just a few days after buying them where I wore them all day long with no problems! Would highly recommend them

These boots felt like putting on a really lovely, soft pair of snuggly slippers. As soon as I put them on that was the end of walking boot hunting. I'd found my perfect pair.

Bought these boots to replace my very old pair of Scarpa walking boots. They were so good, I wanted the exact same pair, but of course all boots change because of new technologies. I researched the competitors, but in the end came back to Scarpa. These boots are so well made and comfortable. They look good and help make walking even more of a pleasure. Really chuffed with my purchase, which arrived very quickly.

I spend 2 hours in your store trying on roughly 20 pairs of boots for a birthday present. Your staff were amazing and very patient! I have quite wide feet and so really struggled to find a boot to fit (and I am a 6.5 which is an awkward size to be). I have worn these boots multiple times on different walks and they are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. Thank you!

Best walking boots ive ever bought!
I'd left it very late to purchase a pair of boots before a 26 mile hike in Yorkshire.
Very light, very sturdy and worn with 1000 miles socks only one tiny blister. (Expectional for new boots for that walk!)
They have a very comfy shaped inner and my feet were still dry after the torrential downpour. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these to anyone.

Having had two pairs of Scarpa Lady Ranger boots previously, I knew that I liked the product. These were instantly comfortable when I tried them on and much lighter than my 2 previous pairs. I tried them out on a very muddy 7 mile walk last weekend, and they were comfortable and watertight throughout and kept me upright, when all around me were sliding to the ground. I have no hesitation in recommending them. The leather on my 2 previous pairs both split on the inner edge of one boot, after quite a bit of wear and I am really hoping that these do not do the same. Fingers and toes crossed!

Having purchased now failed fabric/Gortex style walking boots in the past, we took the advice from a seasoned walker to try traditional leather boots particularly from the Scarpa range.

Simply the best advice ever.

We now have 2 pairs of these excellent boots, my wife has replaced her fabric/Gortex based boots which were Raichle Mammut Atlas GTX's with these Scarpa boots, simply because after less than 2 years the outer fabric shell of the boot around the right hand big toe joint had totally failed and opened up to allow water into the boot, which was more than disappointing considering the cost was virtually the same as these Scarpa boots.

With my daughter doing the DofE and hopefully the Ten Tors Challenge on Dartmoor she will certainly need the best protection for her feet.

These are definitely the choice.

Super light, a factor that has put us off leather boots in the past, these are so comfortable and mold to your feet. With a Gortex lining and Vibram soles they are both a great choice and excellent value.

As soon as my Timberland leather walking boots expire I will definitely be investigating the male version of Scarpa boots.
