Absolutely brilliant buy. we took it to the lakes for 2 weeks and used extensively. The Sevylor Madison Inflatable Kayak is fantastic, easy to inflate/deflate and put away, high quality fabric and very robust. Would highly recommend

just the job, really well made

Excellent stability, quality product, clearly its not going to glide through the water like a canoe, but its more impressive than I thought it would, the skeg is really effective. for size and weight and ease of travel (filled half my roof box), took it on Scottish sea lochs and down a few gentle rivers, down gentle rapids aka no waves more than 300mm it glided down and really shallow draft so got buy on 150mm of water. these boats suit lazy rivers and gentle lakes, they are hard work if the wind gets up but yes 5 stars for messing about in the water ps the kids loved them. I got the kit version and the pump is good and has a useful pressure gauge, I would recommend an electric pump just to get you started (but they don't get to full pressure but it does make the whole process quicker. boat was that ridged inflated I tied it to the roof rack and it was fine on short journeys

Top Kayak
5 out of 5

I bought one of these for the Pudsey, Leeds store after reading lots of reviews. I took it up to a Loch in Scotland not really knowing what to expect as I've never even been in a Kayak before.
Well, it was awesome.....I couldn't believe how stable the thing is in the water. I got a good turn of speed on across the Loch so did get a little wet with the water coming off the oars on the lift stroke, but hey, don't go into any watersport and expect to stay dry!!!! I was out on the Loch for several hours Pike fishing (successfully) and found it surprisingly comfortable. My cousin joined me later when I put the 2 seats in, a combined weight of over 30 stones, and the Kayak was still fantastic, and if anything was better with the extra weight in it.
Overall, if you are thinking about getting one of these, just go buy it and get on the water. There are older versions on sale on internet sites second hand that cost more. Sean.

Madison kayak by sevlyor

This inflatable kayak is great . Easy and fast to get ready for the water. I never done this before three weeks ago. My 12 year old son and myself had it out on lough key in the south of Ireland. Very stable and great to handle on the lake which is used for lots of water sports. Lots of Lake users were very impressed with it. Then we ventured out on the sea in it. Again I was very impressed. Also very stable with the waves although the sea was not rough. We even surfed into the beach in it . Great piece of kit for the price. Can't wait to get it out again

Great product

Very pleased with our first outing on the Kayak. Easy to pump up and plenty of room for my rather large posterior. We are two, not so fit, women in late 50s and we did need to muster a lot of strength to get down to the sea with this blown up and we may decide to blow up on beach another time, it was doable. Very nice looking product also

Far better than I expected

Thanks to my wife spotting a great price match opportunity on these we picked up two and saved a fortune. Having done a lot of canoeing and kayaking in my youth I wasn't overly sure how these would handle compared to traditional rigid craft but they truly surprised me. Firstly they are easy to transport. Don't get me wrong , they are heavy but are easy to move in there bags and i can fit two in the boot of the car. The foot pump supplied feels cheep but works well as does its deflate function. (Full inflation in under 5 minutes). The seating position is comfortable and the back rest adjustable. The supplied ores allow for off set in the paddle faces. The paddle design drives well (but can pick up water on the lift). Since the craft sits on the water more than a conventional hard body it is more affected by wind but is easily pulled straight. The centre streak means it tracks well but can be turned tight and light. You can get a fair turn of speed as well when you get the stroke right. To summarise, i thought this item would be good, but I've ended up being very surprised by just how good. Materials feel like quality and the design is spot on.

Great product, really pleased

Purchased this from the Penrith branch a few weeks ago and got a good deal on price match and with my discount card.

My friend also bought one and we met up in the lakes for a few days to try them out. Cannot fault it. The double skin and fabric the inner inflated bladder is in feels really good quality and tougher than other cheaper inflatables I have seen. It tracks really well through the water and is not far off a rigid Kayak to be honest.

I expected the foot pump to be rubbish but its more than adequate and the gauge is useful as well but the instructions could be a little clearer.

Only tried it on the lakes so far but will be taking it out into the North sea next week.
