This product is a fantastic product and by far the best and easiest way to light a BBQ. I agree and would recommend to use just news paper instead of fire starter.
BUT the choice of Briquette Vs proper charcoal should be YOURS and NO, briquettes are NOT better. Proper Charcoal is actual wood burnt in anaerobic conditions (no oxygen) and they will ALWAYS give you a nice wood smoke flavors; Briquette are LESS natural
Other difference and WRONG information in the video : briquette heats only up to 400 °C while charcoal heats up to 500°C.
other difference, the briquette will heat LONGER than the Charcoal.
best advice : try yourself and see what you prefer.

I've always wanted one of these but just never justified buying one.
I was in store with some extra money due to some refunded items and decided to give it a go.
It's massive which for me is good because I always have big BBQ's. This means no messing fill it up once and I'm ready to cook.
Much easier than stacking coals, cleaner as well. Was slightly smokey when first lit but not for to long. Only need a couple of fire lighters to get it going.
Over all did the job and really liked it. Abit discoloured now but that's to be expected but very happy with my purchase.

Very good product. Used to get the coals going quick then used at the end of the cooking for a small fire using crackle logs. Chimney effect works very well. No need to use firelighters, just some newspaper will do it. Recommended.
